A beautiful Friday

Today is going to be a good day. I've got my energy back and it's beautiful outside. For some odd reason I'm listening to Cake, interesting group. If I had a singing career, this is how I'd sing. It sounds like he's talking, I can talk. :) I was thinking about this blog, I need new ideas. I'm not much for just linking people to all sorts of places, and if I had a million ideas for images/links.. it would be on my site. I need some feedback. I won't be like these other people who post blogs assuming the whole world reads them, but those few who might stop by.. help! You know.. that steady trickle of a visitor or two per day. I know you're glancing at this. E-mail me.. give me your suggestions. Go one step further and give ideas for my page. I mean as far as layout, not concept. The concept is my personal page, obviously. Well.. I just want to mention my wife's page, Frozenhell.net. Go there.. it's better than my page. which is why I need to work on mine. The problem is that I'm not a big html person, and these editors out there suck so bad I don't work on the page at all. As far as my personal life, all is well. I suck at video games, by the way. I'm very happily married and just enjoying what comes next. No honeymoon yet, that will be later in the year, but well.. we're doing the "at home" version of it. I'm not one to talk about sex, but that department is not lacking. I guess I better enjoy it now, because later on in marriage I'll get it once a month and on holidays/birthdays. Here's a little history on me with the Internet. I started out in 1994 using BBSes (not the internet really) and in 1995 I bought a new external 14.4 modem and it came with a Delphi brochure. This was this awesome text based ISP. It was pretty expensive at the time. I think it was like 4 hours for $10. You dialed in via either Sprintnet or Tymnet and you used your hours carefully. I remember the help section being free from minute charges so we'd pop into the places we visit and IM from the "free area". After a while it went to 20 hours for $20. Same "free area" thing at the end of the month. Then Delphi moved from an ISP to somewhere you went via Telnet when you had an ISP. The Telnet days were the best. No hourly limits, no charges (I helped host a forum that I still host in today). At some point during all this our forum "Teen/Youth Custom Forum 38" went from user created to part of Delphi. We had to change the name, so I made up "Teen Spot" and put it to a vote. It ended up being chosen and you can find Teen Spot at www.teen-spot.com today. Over time things changed and in 1997 I think, Delphi went web. It turned into a web only community and people either adjusted or went away. I still go to Teen Spot now, even though I'm not a teen anymore. It's part of my roots. Now aside from Delphi, I've had dialup until a few years ago when I had DSL for over a year and now cable internet for the better part of a year. High speed internet had been great for me. I went from 640/90 DSL to 512/128 cable, then up to where I am now 1500/512. It's a good thing to have. No waiting. :) Oh, and well.. that it.. my long history of being behind the times. When Pentiums were the rage I was 486ing it. When they broke the 1 GHz barrier, I broke the 500 MHz one. Right now I'm at 850 and it's fine. Ok, I'm done rambling.. the next post will be shorter, for sure. Don't forget. If you read this.. e-mail me ideas. Read the top of this. Ideas! Ideas! Bye for now. --------
