Awaiting the moment..
We're trying to have a child now, but that doesn't mean we've tried and failed. We don't know yet if it was successful, but I'm not too worried. We're still going on a trip to Upstate NY next week. We just don't know what days. Originally Deb was going to write in the request book days off on Thursday and Friday but accidentally put Friday and Saturday. This was months ago. This week (Friday) the schedule comes out for next week and she has Thursday and Friday off. I have Wednesday and Friday off. This makes it impossible to go on the same consecutive days off together. I'm obviously doing something about this, but the fact that they got it wrong pisses me off. You do everything you can for this company and they do nothing but screw things up every chance they get.
A while ago when Deb had the car down in FL (before she came up here with it) she got into an accident and cracked the plastic front bumper. A few days ago a guy backed into the car as it was parked and it got worse. Now we're looking at getting a new bumper for it. We have to make time to go to NH where my Uncle lives and has a Ford Escort one year older and the same style. This is where conflicting schedules mess us up. Sure it's nice for each of us to have that "alone time" but if we ever need to make an hour and a half trip together to NH, we can't. We'll figure something out, we don't really have a choice.
Lately I've become obsessed with cell phone service. Not really obsessed because that's a bit of an extreme way to put it, but very interested. The technology and the fact that it's all run on towers that form cells all interests me. You can drive from location to location talking on the phone and it gets silently handed off from cell to cell. Each cell tower covers space and it's fun to try and see which areas are covered, which aren't. Forums at WirelessAdvisor.com are full of people who have different services and different phones. Some people love their service and defend it mightily (The Voicestream guy and the Sprint guy) and others are more passive and just try to help others out. It's actually a whole community there and there are always interesting messages to read. I guess my two technologies are now Broadband (high speed internet) and Wireless phones.
Ok, I've typed enough for one day. I need to leave something for another day. Until then..
