Messing with Linux again...

Recently I decided to give a certain Linux distro another chance. I tried it before this recent update and it was ok, but lacked the polish it needed to be my choice for Linux. They've released a stable beta and it's great. They're one week off of making it an official build release. The very basic things I wanted to do in Linux were and always have been browsing, listening to mp3s, IMing, and being able to test my connection occasionally. I'm a broadband nut so I like to see that I'm getting the connection speeds I should get. With 90% of the Linux distros I tried I wouldn't be able to run a simple Java speed test or a traceroute utility. With the one I'm using (Lycoris build 45) I can do everything I want. I have installed Opera, Netscape, Mozilla, VisualRoute, and Gaim without problems. Right now I'm posting on the Blogger site and I'm on Lycoris Linux. Previous tries at doing this would result in a "post" button hiding somewhere. I'd type and as it scrolled down the post and publish buttons disappeared. I have to shower and shave before work, so I'm done.. until next time... --------
