Tomorrow's the day..

I hope Wal-Mart doesn't hold against me the fact that I was a union worker for nearly five years. They are adamantly anti-union and I have no plans to introduce it into the workplace. I've read some reports of them not hiring former union employees for fear of them getting other workers to unionize. Sure the union got me benefits I never used and a guaranteed minimum amount of hours, but other than that they just took their dues and nothing else. I just don't want something that came as a mandatory part of my previous job to prevent me from securing this job. With a few full time weeks of pay at this job I can get caught up with the few bills I have. I keep going over what I might say if they address the union issue with me. Do I appear anti-union, indifferent, or what? I may just say that I wasn't given a choice in the matter. It's the truth. Aside from that I have to show a willingness to do the job at hand. To work in harsh conditions in a timely and effective manner. The fact that every move I make is calculated worries me a bit, but I know I can do it. I guess I'm just scared of the unknown, who isn't? I have to embrace it and welcome it. I sure will enjoy the paychecks. Some people are used to large paychecks, but not me. Seeing nearly $600 a check was just a mindfuck at my last job, it was bi-weekly. With no state taxes taken out and a few more dollars an hour I should do better with this job. All I really want is to get caught up with our bills so we can get truly settled in here with FL registration and FL licenses. We can't afford those now. We've lived here almost a month but to those who look at our car, we're "out of staters" still. If it wasn't $180 for FL registration we'd be okay. If places down here didn't shrug off an application with nothing but out of state job references we'd be okay. I just need one company to take a chance on me and I think it just might be Wal-Mart. I never had anything against them and god knows they do some shady business like any corporate entity does. If they give me a chance I'll forgive their indiscretions. :) Until next time.. --------
