It's a girl!
I would've posted this sooner, but my Mom wanted to use the computer for a while. We got home 5 minutes before noon and Deb ran off straight to work. The name we came to last night is Alexandra Anne Garrand. I have always said I'd be happy with whatever the baby turned out to be and I am. I wanted a boy first and a girl second so the girl would have an older brother to look out for her. In this case whatever we have second will have an older sister. Everything looked great on the ultrasound and I'll have the pictures scanned whenever I get around to it. I have to figure out where the scanner ended up after the move.
After learning the baby was a girl a lot of thoughts ran through my head. I know this girl will be close to her father and I'm looking forward to raising her. I'm looking forward to being a firm but positive influence in her life. I'm looking forward to teaching her right from wrong and her making the right decisions when she is at the point of making them. I know you can't always shelter a child and you can't be there by their side every minute of every day. Sooner or later how you raised them comes into the picture and I know it will make the difference. I'm so happy right now I'm beyond words. I am going to be the best father ever. Until tomorrow..
