Windows.. can't live with it, can't live without it..

I swear it's like that movie "Groundhog Day" at times. The same thing over and over again. Our Windows installation has gone to hell more times than I can count on both hands. I guess I asked for it not too long ago when I said XP was the most stable OS I've used. That title may as well go to Windows 3.1 now, maybe 98 SE. I've tried going Windows-less, but there are just as many problems with the desktop interface of any Linux distro I've used. The last one was Mandrake 10.0. So much for that idea. No good apps, severely buggy desktop experience, and installing programs is real easy but you cannot find them afterwards. They just disappear. Guess that's my inexperience, and no they're not in usr/bin/ or usr/local/ :) Chris and I went to see "Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story" today with passes. It was a very funny movie. Not the funniest I've ever seen, but it had a lot of laughs. I expected it to be like the "Naked Gun" series of movies in that there'd be laughs around every corner. They were not around every corner, but quite a few of them. It ends just as you'd expect, but I wasn't expecting a thinking man's movie at all. It's good to sit down with a buddy and laugh your butt off for a while. Chris and I do that without a movie playing, but still. :) Until tomorrow.. --------
